Hello

I would like to know if this has been used within a vegetable crop, in particular onions and carrots?

Thanks.

Thanks for joining Jamie!

As it happens, I’m working with some vegetable growers in Western Australia to build a 2.5cm resolution system with 16 nozzles. You can read a bit about it here and here (page 122). This will be trained on brassica crops though, but the hardware might be relevant. Once we have it built and tested we will write up a lot more on how it’s being done too. The 16 channel hat is also available if you wanted to get started.

You would need to start collecting imagery with the OWL camera or similar (see below) and then annotate it to develop your algorithm

We’re using diesel injectors as the solenoids currently - but want to see how they perform. On paper it should have very fast switching times and they are quite cost effective at this quantity. The final unit will be 1.6m across with 4x OWLs inside.
